MEN’S YOUROLOGY
Can stretching really straighten a curved penis?
A multicenter clinical trial spanning Spain, Germany, India, and the US examined whether the new Penimaster PRO traction device could safely and effectively reduce penile curvature in men with stable Peyronie’s disease.
Almost a hundred men were followed for 12 weeks, with half using the device for 3-8 hours daily. The results were pretty good: curvature improved by an average of 31 degrees (a 41% reduction), and men who used the device for more than 6 hours a day saw over 50% improvement. In addition, penile length increased by 1.8 cm on average, and many participants reported higher satisfaction and less bother from their condition. Only mild side effects, like temporary discomfort or numbness, were reported in about 43% of users.
Researchers conclude that traction therapy may delay or even prevent surgery for many men with stable Peyronie’s disease, offering a promising, non-invasive alternative worth trying.
WOMEN’S YOUROLOGY
Do IUDs Change Your Sex Life?
This systematic review analyzed 37 studies from countries including the US, Sweden, China, and Turkey, exploring how hormonal (LNG) and non-hormonal (copper) IUDs affect women’s sexual function. The findings may surprise many: hormonal IUDs often reduced sexual pain and were linked to neutral or even improved sexual desire, while copper IUDs tended to have little impact, sometimes causing heavier periods but no clear harm to sexual pleasure or satisfaction.
Across thousands of women, most domains of arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and satisfaction remained stable after IUD insertion. Interestingly, the levonorgestrel IUD showed consistent benefits for women struggling with pain from conditions like endometriosis or heavy bleeding, suggesting a potential dual role as both contraceptive and therapeutic tool.
While the review highlights encouraging trends, it also calls for more rigorous randomized trials to confirm these effects. For now, it’s reassuring evidence that IUDs, especially hormonal ones, don’t appear to dull sexual function and may even make intimacy more comfortable for many.
This week, someone asked me, “Hello, how are you, doctor friend? I have a problem with my marriage. I don't have sex with my long-term partner. It lasts a little less than 5 minutes. I always have it droopy, flaccid, droopy. Can you help me with some medicine or remedy to save my marriage? Thank you for your help, friend. I follow you on social networks.”. Issues with erections and lasting time are incredibly common, especially in long-term relationships. The good news is that there are effective treatments, from lifestyle changes (like exercise and diet) to medications such as Sildenafil or Tadalafil, which can help with firmness and lasting longer. Please see a urologist, as a tailored plan and health check are important.
I actually just uploaded a new video about how to last longer in bed, check it out in the “Highlights from My Channel” section below.
I love hearing from you, so if there’s a question you’ve been wanting to ask, just let me know. Who knows? Your question might be the one I dive into next!
WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY
Just wrapped up an amazing trip to HLTH, a huge health tech conference in Vegas! Got to chat with some fascinating people for the podcast and peek into what's coming next in healthcare technology.
It's super exciting. However, there's this mad dash with everyone racing to launch the "next big thing" in health tech. But speed isn't everything. What we really need are tools that actually make healthcare better and help us take care of patients the way they deserve.
The good news? I'm cautiously optimistic. I think we're heading toward a future where we can tailor treatment to each person's unique needs using the right tech – and that means better results for everyone.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY CHANNEL
In this video, I talked about how to last longer in bed naturally, and cleared up some big myths about pelvic floor exercises for premature ejaculation. “If you are doing boatloads of Kegels, I want you to press pause, and I want you to do this routine instead.”
Here are some quick takeaways:
Overdoing Kegels can make things worse for premature ejaculation—focus on relaxing, not just strengthening.
The top three pelvic floor stretches are: Stir the Pots, Knees to Chest, and Happy Baby (each for 60 seconds).
Relaxing those tight pelvic floor muscles can help you “melt away all the built-up tone and tightness” and last longer.
Try these simple stretches and remember, it’s all about a balanced, healthy approach for you and your partner. Check out the full video or podcast for more tips you can actually use!
HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY PODCAST
I had such a fun conversation with Caitlin V, a top sex coach, all about making sex less stressful and more pleasurable. She shared a super simple tip that can make a big difference “If you do nothing else other than breathe...you’ll be in a better place instantly to handle those things.”
Caitlin talked about how slowing down, focusing on pleasure (not just performance!), and better communication can truly boost your sex life—no complicated tricks needed.
Deep, mindful breathing calms nerves and makes intimacy better.
Slow down and enjoy pleasure, don’t just rush to the finish line.
Open communication with your partner is key for connection.
Honestly, these tips are doable—and they really work! So listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or here and see why people are commenting, “The collab I have been waiting for! My two favorite sources of information!”.
