MEN’S YOUROLOGY

Does Pornography Really Affect Sexual Function?

The debate around pornography and sexual performance is more complex than it seems. This review analyzed over 50 studies published between 2015 and 2023, exploring whether porn use causes problems like erectile dysfunction, orgasmic delay, or low arousal. The findings? For most men and women, pornography use had little to no negative impact on partnered sex, and in some cases, women even reported slight improvements in arousal and satisfaction.

However, the study noted that a small group, about 2-8% of users who engage in compulsive or problematic viewing, were more likely to experience mild to moderate sexual difficulties. Interestingly, many of these cases may relate more to anxiety, mood issues, or relationship strain than to porn itself.

Bottom line: Most of the time, porn is not a cause for dysfunction, but of course, there are some people who genuinely struggle with compulsive behavior related to porn and have problems because of it.

Physical Activity and Female Sexual Health: What the Global Data Reveal

How much does movement really matter for women’s sexual well-being? This large systematic review and meta-analysis pulled together global data from 7 studies involving nearly 4,000 women to find out. The results show that women with low physical activity or sedentary lifestyles had a 64% prevalence of sexual dysfunction, compared to 47% among those who were physically active.

The analysis spanned populations from Italy to Brazil to Singapore, showing that inactivity consistently correlated with poorer sexual function, including lower desire, arousal, and orgasmic satisfaction. Researchers point to hormonal regulation, pelvic floor muscle strength, and mental health as possible links between exercise and sexual response.

Bottom line: If you needed another reason to stay active, add having a good healthy sex life to the list.

This week, someone asked me, “I can’t keep an erection And when I take something for a erection, I cannot ejaculate It’s causing me to lose desire for sexual activity which I know I want”. Difficulty maintaining an erection is common, especially as we age or with certain health conditions. Causes can include low testosterone, nerve issues, stress, diabetes, high blood pressure, or circulation problems, as well as how the medications interact with your body. Being unable to ejaculate is more complicated and requires a discussion with your doctor to see why this is happening and how to treat it. Also, try to continue focusing on your overall health, maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, manage stress, and avoid smoking.

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO LATELY

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to take a moment to share why I created the new Better Sex App.

As a urologist, my schedule is packed. I can only see so many patients in a day. I realized that millions of people are left to find answers to their most intimate questions in sketchy forums, getting bad advice that increases their anxiety.

I thought: What if I could give everyone the same expert, compassionate guidance I give my patients in the clinic? What if I could put it right in their pocket?

That's why I built this app. It's my answer for you.

I wanted to show you what's inside:

  1. Your Daily Plan: When you log in, you get a simple, 5-10 minute daily plan. No guesswork. It's a micro-lesson, a quick quiz, and a health practice. That's it.

  2. The AI Coach (My Favorite Part): This is the game-changer. We trained an AI on my entire body of work. You can ask it anything, and it gives you personalized, supportive advice in my actual voice. It's like having a private, 24/7 consultation.

  3. Real Plans for Real Goals: This isn't a one-size-fits-all program. The app creates a custom plan to help you with:

    1. Erectile Dysfunction

    2. Low Libido

    3. Bedroom Anxiety & Confidence

    4. Partner Communication

    5. And so much more...

This is the ultimate resource I wish all my patients had.

The 20% launch discount is still running for a few more days, and I don't want you to miss it.

If you're ready to take control of your sexual health, this is your guide.

Also, I had the chance to sit down with Shawn Ryan on the Shawn Ryan Show for a deep, honest, and myth-busting conversation about men’s sexual health. We covered everything from erectile dysfunction and hormone changes to pelvic floor exercises, porn’s impact on real-life intimacy, and the biggest misconceptions men still believe about sex. If you’re curious about what’s actually true, backed by science, not the internet, this episode is a must-watch. Watch it now here!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY CHANNEL

This week, I dove into a surprising topic about what’s really “normal” for testosterone levels and why that number might not fit everyone. "Your normal testosterone level shouldn't be defined by a single blood test number. Instead it should be based on your individual needs, whether that's bone health, fertility, or overall well being."

Here are some quick takeaways:

  • Different parts of your body need different testosterone levels to work best.

  • Sleep quality has a huge impact on your testosterone, poor sleep means lower levels.

  • Younger men often need higher testosterone ranges than the typical “normal” cutoff.

If you’ve ever wondered about your testosterone numbers, tune in for a fresh look at what “normal” really means, because it’s all about finding what’s right for you!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY PODCAST

Last week, I had a truly interesting talk with Dr. Charmaine Borg about why things involved in sex, like body fluids or smells, sometimes feel gross but other times feel really exciting! Dr. Borg shares “Sexual arousal will outweigh disgust… but once disgust is learned, it’s very hard to unlearn.”

Basically, our brains can turn things that are usually “icky” into something sexy, depending on how attracted we feel. And in longer relationships, doing new things together or actually planning time for intimacy helps keep that spark alive.

  • Feeling turned on can make “disgusting” things seem okay—or even sexy.

  • Routine can cause the “ick,” but novelty helps.

  • Focus on having fun together, not just on fixing problems.

So listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or here and see why people are commenting, “Fantastic interview!!!”.
