MEN’S YOUROLOGY

Is “Too Much Estrogen” an Overlooked Cause of Severe Erectile Problems?

This study from a large andrology center raises an uncomfortable but important question: what happens when a man’s estrogen levels climb higher than expected? Researchers analyzed over 500 men seeking help for new-onset erectile dysfunction, carefully reviewing hormone levels, medical history, and validated sexual-function questionnaires. Surprisingly, nearly 1 in 5 men (17.6%) had estradiol levels high enough to qualify as hyperestrogenism. And this group stood out.

Men with elevated estradiol were more than twice as likely to have severe erectile dysfunction and showed significantly worse orgasmic function. Even after accounting for age, testosterone levels, body mass index, and comorbidities, higher estradiol independently predicted lower erectile-function scores. These men were also more likely to have other health issues, about 26% had significant comorbidities, compared to just 7.4% in men with normal estradiol.

Also these men had higher levels of testosterone, not lower, so make sure your doctor is checking your estradiol level if you're having sexual issues!

WOMEN’S YOUROLOGY

Does the Orgasm Gap Ever Go Away or Does It Last a Lifetime?

A new study of almost 25,000 adults across the United States asks a simple but surprising question: Do men and women get closer in orgasm rates as they get older, or does the gap stay the same? Researchers looked at data from adults aged 18 to 100 years old, collected over eight years. The main finding was: in every single age group, men reported orgasming much more often during intercourse, about 70-85% of the time, while women reported only 46-58%. That means men had a 22–30% higher orgasm rate at every stage of adulthood.

Sexual orientation also played a role, but in smaller ways. For example, lesbian and bisexual women in their late 30s and 40s reported slightly higher orgasm rates than heterosexual women, and older gay and bisexual men reported somewhat lower rates than heterosexual men. These differences weren’t consistent across all ages, but they hint that relationship dynamics and partner behavior may matter.

What’s most important is that the gap didn’t disappear with age. Even as people gained more experience, confidence, or communication skills, the differences stayed almost the same. The study suggests that long-standing cultural habits, like focusing mostly on penetration may play a big role.

This week, someone asked me, “Is it possible to over come ed with cialis and masterbation over time thank.you so much I have seen your u tube videos and love them.”. Yes, you can often manage erectile dysfunction with Cialis, which helps improve blood flow to the penis and allows you to more easily get erections. In terms of masturbation, it's not necessarily going to change erectile function, but it's not harmful either! It’s important to address underlying causes like stress, health conditions, or relationship issues as well.

I love hearing from you, so if there’s a question you’ve been wanting to ask, just let me know. Who knows? Your question might be the one I dive into next!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY CHANNEL

This week, I talked about what really happens to your vagina if you don’t have sex for a while, busting some common myths and sharing practical advice. "You are not put setting yourself up for a use it or lose it situation."

Here are some quick takeaways:

  • Your vagina doesn’t close up or shrink just because you’re not having sex.

  • Changes like dryness or less elasticity are more likely in menopause due to lower estrogen, not just sexual inactivity.

  • Solo sex, pelvic exercises, and moisturizers can help keep things healthy, even if you’re not sexually active.

Remember, your body is resilient and any discomfort can often be easily treated. If something doesn’t feel quite right, always talk to your doctor! Check out the full episode if you want to dive deeper into this topic, it’s all about simple, science-backed ways to support your vaginal health.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY PODCAST

I had such a great conversation with Neelam Brar all about senior mental health—something we don’t talk about enough. She’s the founder of Total Life, a platform making therapy easy for older adults. Neelam Brar shared a gem: “I think aging is something that we should really look at as a privilege, not a curse.”

Here are a few takeaways for you or your loved ones:

  • Staying curious and learning keeps you young.

  • Social connections and hobbies can boost joy and purpose.

  • Small steps—like making your bed—can set a positive tone for your day.

It’s never too late to take care of your mind and happiness, so listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or here and see why people are commenting, “This was such an important conversation. We talk a lot about meds and diagnoses for seniors, but barely about their loneliness, anxiety, and sense of purpose. Thank you for reminding families that mental health care is just as essential as physical care”.
