MEN’S YOUROLOGY

Did you know a daily multivitamin might help lower prostate cancer recurrence—especially in men with more aggressive disease?

In a long-term study of nearly 1,400 men treated with surgery or radiation, those who used multivitamins had a significantly reduced risk of recurrence. Among men with higher-grade cancer (Gleason 3+4 or above), multivitamin users were about 73% less likely to have the cancer return. It’s not a substitute for follow-up care, but it points to a simple, accessible habit that may make a real difference.

WOMEN’S YOUROLOGY

Is there finally a non-hormonal option that actually works for hot flashes?

This study compared fezolinetant—a non-hormonal drug—to over 30 different treatments, including hormone therapy and other non-hormonal options like paroxetine, gabapentin, and placebo. The results? Fezolinetant didn’t outperform hormone therapy, but it held its ground. It was more effective than every non-hormonal option in reducing both the frequency and severity of hot flashes.

It matters because not everyone can or wants to take hormones. And until now, non-hormonal options haven’t been that effective. This study suggests fezolinetant may finally offer real relief for those navigating menopause symptoms without hormones.

This week, someone asked me, “Can a poorly done, yet successful vasectomy reduce testosterone levels? After mine, I had recurring pain during sex, and I was later diagnosed with low testosterone.”. A vasectomy shouldn’t directly affect testosterone. It only blocks sperm transport, not hormone production, since the blood supply to the testicles remains intact. However, some men do experience post-vasectomy pain, which can impact libido and mood. Chronic pain doesn't really lend itself to feeling sexy... There’s no evidence linking vasectomies to lower testosterone, but stress and aging could contribute. I’d suggest working with a doctor to fully evaluate your hormone levels, pain, and symptoms together, so you can get to the root of what’s going on and start feeling better.

I love hearing from you, so if there’s a question you’ve been wanting to ask, just let me know. Who knows? Your question might be the one I dive into next!

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY CHANNEL

What your urine color actually means for your health, and how paying attention to it can help you feel better every day! Quote: "When you're properly hydrated, your urine should look like a light yellow color, like lemonade."

Here are a few quick takeaways:

  • Dark urine? Drink more water. Too clear? You might be overdoing it!

  • The goal is light yellow pee—that's your sweet spot for hydration.

  • Tracking urine color can help reduce UTIs, improve energy, and even make your skin look better.

I'm inviting you to join my 7-day Urine Color Challenge and find your personal hydration “sweet spot.”

HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY PODCAST

I had a discussion about how pleasure, sex, and even watching pornography really affect your brain—and why there’s so much misinformation out there. Quote: "Your most powerful sexual organ is not in fact between your legs… It’s between your ears. It’s your brain."

Here are some quick takeaways:

  • The brain creates a “template” for what you find sexy, based on your early experiences—but it can always change!

  • Touch (especially from another person) is way more powerful for your brain than anything you can see on a screen.

  • Watching porn doesn’t “rewire” your brain or ruin relationships—guilt or shame about it is often the real issue.

As I shared, it's not about shame or strict rules. What matters is enjoying safe, consensual experiences that make you feel good about yourself. So listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or here and see why people are commenting, “The most correct material I've ever seen on that topic”.
